2) Professor Manabu Sato - Graduate School of Education, The University of Tokyo.
Professor Manabu Sato is a professor with the Graduate School of Education, The University of Tokyo. He served as dean of the Graduate School of Education from 2004 to 2006. He was also a visiting professor to the Harvard University and New York University, and an invited professor of El Colegio de Mexico and Berlin Free University.
Professor Sato was the vice-chairperson of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in the National Council of Sciences in Japan. From 2004 to 2009, he was the president of the Japanese Educational Research Association.
Professor Sato has worked extensively and intensively with many schools and school leaders in Japan. He is a highly dedicated and outstanding educator who believes in the importance of school leaders and teachers in nurturing learning communities. In addition to being a prolific writer and researcher, he has been an invited speaker in various countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States. He published more than 20 books, about 100 editorial books and nearly 200 academic papers in Japanese. Many of his books have been translated into English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Korean.
Professor Sato's multiple contributions have been recognized in Japan and overseas. For instance, he was elected to be a member of National Academy of Education in the United States, and in 2009, he was appointed the Inaugural Fellow of American Educational Research Association for his exceptional contributions to international educational research.
3) Ms Mia Handshin
With over a decade of experience as a speaker at all levels, from schools to International conference podiums, Mia is a polished keynote presenter, MC and host, an engaging social commentator, an enthusiastic discussion panel member and a skillful and challenging workshop or seminar facilitator. Peter Hall Jones has been working as an Education, Leadership and Culture Change consultant since 2003. Prior to this Peter spent twenty years in the education, training and leadership culminating in nine years of headship where he was described by OFSTED as 'An excellent, passionate and articulate leader'.
Within education Peter's passions, specialism's and expertise are in the areas of Leadership, Culture/ Behaviour Change, Change Management, Conflict Resolution, Multiculturalism/ Diversity, Inclusion, Extended Full Service provision, Community engagement and latterly as a Consultant with QCA (Qualification and Curriculum Authority) helping develop modern future curriculum design.
As head teacher of a fully inclusive, extended culturally diverse inner city community school Peter led on a number of nationally acclaimed initiatives around inclusion of children with Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, engagement of parents and carers, community provision and development.
Peter is now in demand to work across all sectors in developing leadership, innovation and efficacy. He is a Master Consultant with The Pacific Institute, with whom he works as a project director and implementer with major public sector clients and whole Local Authorities in developing constructive leadership and culture to generate improvements in performance and aspiration.
An Associate of The Virtual Staff College for Directors and Assistant Directors of Children's Services, a Leadership Consultant with The British Council working around the world to develop school leaders, and a consultant with the QCA working across the country in developing a world class curriculum in schools. This work entails motivating, engaging, supporting and developing groups and individual schools to create their own world-class modern curriculums to bring about a step change in attainment across the breadth of educational provision.
Through The Spiral Partnership Ltd Peter is also engaged in a number of personal development coaching activities with Head teachers, DCS and Executives which he combines with his work for a range of public bodies as a key note speaker, motivator and consultant.
