Master of Education in Educational Management & Leadership by The University of Sydney
|
The MEd in Educational Management and Leadership is a program for leaders and future leaders in a dynamic climate of educational change and innovation. This degree requires one-year of full-time study, or two-years part-time.
To be awarded the Master of Education degree you need to successfully complete 8 units of study. Each unit of study is equivalent to approximately 24 hours of face-to-face teaching. The units of study offered in the programme offered in collaboration with the Academy of Principals (Singapore) are identical to those offered in Sydney and are taught by the same staff members.

Singapore Programme Structure
|
The Faculty has considerable experience in offering units of study in an intensive mode. Since 2003 the faculty has offered the MEd program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages in Shanghai. The model developed and successfully implemented in Shanghai will be used in Singapore. The model comprises prereading prior to a period of intensive teaching, followed by a period of consultation and advice from staff via email and other forms of ICT prior to the submission of final assignments, has proven very effective.
The results of students who have been taught using this model of teaching have been similar to those who have
attended the semester-length program in Sydney. A similar percentage of graduates from programs offered in
either mode have been successful in obtaining scholarships to enter PhD programs in Australia, USA and UK.
The exact timing of each unit of study will be determined in consultation with students, the Academy of Principals
(Singapore) and the University of Sydney.
